Physiological and humanised birth promoters in the world

Empowering women from womb for their natural strengthen in giving birth is a very challenging in this materialistic world. Having worked in improving maternal health by empowering women I realised that physiological birth has been seen and treated in a pathological process according to the schooling of Dr. Joseph Bolivar DeLee, an American obstetrician who became known as the father of modern obstetrics. In 1915, Dr. Joseph DeLee, author of the most important obstetric textbook of that period, described childbirth as a pathological process that damages both mothers and babies “often and much.” He said that if birth were properly viewed as a destructive pathology rather than as a normal function, “the midwife would be impossible even of mention.” In the first issue of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, DeLee proposed a sequence of interventions designed to save women from the “evils natural to labour.” The interventions included routine use of sedatives, ether, episiotomies, and forceps.
It has evident that promoting natural physiological childbirth process has been rare in this commercial and capitalistic world where women's body and brain have been captured to make them to think that they are incapable to giving birth on their own so they need specialised medical professionals. However, there are some medical professionals who had understood that birthing is a natural physiological process that women capable of helping themselves.
Dr. Frédérick Leboyer, a French obstetrician, best known for his 1975 book, Birth Without Violence, which popularised gentle birthing techniques, in particular, the practice of immersing newly-born infants in a small tub of warm water — known as a "Leboyer bath" — to help ease the transition from the womb to the outside world. He graduated from the University of Paris School of Medicine. Watch his interview about Birth Without Violence at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNvcM76rgTo

Dr. Grantly Dick-Read (1890-1959), a British obstetrician and a leading advocate of natural childbirth.

He was an outspoken supporter of midwifery.
Dr. Sarah J Buckley, a trained GP/family physician with qualifications in GP-obstetrics and family planning. She is the mother of four home-born children, and currently combines full-time motherhood with her work as a writer on pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
Penelope Leach, a British psychologist who researches and writes extensively on parenting issues from a child development perspective
