Caste system is the MAIN reason WHY India and Nepal are still lagging behind in the development

Despite the British ruled over India for 339 years (East India Company arrived in India in the year 1608 and in 1947 India declared herself an independent nation) still Indian couldn't move ahead in the development like  Hong Kong, Singapore, Brunei, and many other British colonised nations of the world. It might be due to the CASTE (Varna) SYSTEM created and promoted by the holy scripture THE LAW OF MANU, written by Indian Brahmin sage inbetween 200 BCE and 200 CE is strongly prevailing in India, which has affected Nepal as well very badly that has been creating social disharmony promoting caste and gender-based discrimination in our beautiful Nature made Heaven and ill minded irrational thoughts and religious and caste inflicted mindset of men is Making Hell to our beautiful nation.

My above statement supports by this statement:
"The 2,000-year-old Hindu caste system remains the most powerful force in Indian society. Broadly speaking, the caste system has Brahmins and Kshatriya at the top of the social order, followed by the trading castes known as Baniyas and scores of laboring castes such as the Yadavs, and beneath them all the erstwhile untouchables, whom the constitution calls the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes."

The LAW of Manu in its Chapter 1 verse31 said that "But for the sake of the prosperity of the worlds he caused the Brahmana, the Kshatriya, the Vaisya, and the Sudra to proceed from his mouth, his arms, his thighs, and his feet."

Hehehe! WHAT a joke that people can be born other than Vagina, normal birth canal of all human beings. I didn't know that. This is the reason WHY I've to be skeptical and cynical about so-called holy and sacred books made by ill-minded cleaver men to control over mass telling them "If you don't follow religion and believe on GOD then you'll GO TO HELL". Hehehe! in reality they also don't know where is the HELL! Bullshit mind of ill minded cleaver men!!

I thought that okay this Law of Manu is a scrap BUT another great holy scripture, The Bhagavad Gita is good BUT it also support the notion of the caste (varn) as stated in the Law of Manu and says:

[41] The works of Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras are different, in harmony with the three powers of their born nature.

[42] The works of a Brahmin are peace; self-harmony, austerity, and purity; loving-forgiveness and righteousness; vision and wisdom and faith.

[43] These are the works of a Kshatriya : a heroic mind, inner fire, constancy, resourcefulness, courage in battle, generosity and noble leadership.

[44] Trade, agriculture and the rearing of cattle is the work of a Vaishya. And the work of the Shudra () is service.

In the caste system hierarchy on the top there is Brahmin (Bahun) followed by Kshatriyas (Chhetri), Vaishyas and Sudras (untouchable) in the bottom and those who doesn't fall under this category such as Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, Magar, Gurung, Tamang, Chepang, etc indigenous communities of Nepal are also considered untouchable by Brahmin and Chhetri. Sudras is also called Dalit officially in Nepal and India but under this definition indigenous communities don't fall.

Generally, Dalit and indigenous communities say that caste system is shame and they condemn caste system because they themselves and their community have been victimized since ages because the Law of Manu verses had been incorporated in the Law of Nepal from the very early time and heavenly influenced by man-made religion the that has promoted caste system as well as gender based discrimination in Nepal and committing GENOCIDE of these groups by those who ARE in the higher level of this caste hierarchy and they are very Proud of being privileged group that's why they don't condemn and STAND UP to eliminate or eradicate this ancient Indian Brahmin sage created CASTE system. Instead they said it (caste or varna system) was required at that time. If that was required at that time then WHY it was not required in Europe, Africa, East Asia, USA, UK, Germany, etc and despite British ruled over India more than 300 years WHY they are still couldn't advance at the level of Japan, Korea, China, Europe, Australia, Germany, USA, etc if it was still required at that time. These are the insane reasons that they LOVE to give. Ill minded and ill intentional people love to give just the justification rather than trying to eliminate such practice from Nepal.

  1. Laxmi ji, aren't you obsessed with this caste thing?! I've read your blog posts and most of it is about caste and religion in Nepal, and your seemingly obvious hate/dislike towards Bahuns and Hinduism. Why do you hate us so much?? Do you only hate Khas Bahuns, or do you also have special hatred towards Madhesh and Newar Bahuns as well?

I totally understand your frustrations of the current state of our country, but by blaming an entire group of people for the inadequacy of a few is stupid frankly. Yes, blame the corrupt leaders, blame the corrupt system. But don't generalize the entire population.

  2. I do have to be obsessed about it because it is the main reason for backwardness of Nepalese society. It is your rudimentary, prejudice and fearful mindset due to your own ignorance to think that I hate human being based on their societal gifted identities such as caste/ethnicity, religion, sex, gender and nationality and play blame game. I'm totally against blame game that Nepalese mass play against each other.

I appreciate and know that United We Stand, Divided We Fall as Aesop said. We've to STOP hatred among own community and country human beings just because their sex, age, color, race, creed, caste/ethnicity, religion, nationality are different based on the societal given tagged doesn't mean they are alien. They are human so learn to treat each and every human as a human rather than alien.

A sense of real Human and Humanity!!

For the sake of humanity and prosperity of everyone Nepali citizen if anyone consider themselves as a real human being and have sense of humanity then MUST feel shame to claim or identify themselves as a upper caste because their upper caste has been made by an Indian sage Manu as per his Law. Manusmriti that adapted by Nepali past rulers.

Nepali society destruction garo politicians and rulers le because they didn't learn good part of Manu's law and apply. Whatever they've learn it bad part of it.

In Nepal, the law of manu officially introduced in 14th century during King Jaysthiti Malla period because as per the advisors of his he hired 5 learned Indian Brahmins to write the 1st code of conduct of Nepal, Manav Nyaya Shastra that incoporated the Manusmriti verses in it. This Shastra had followed by PN Shah and also Janga Bahadur Rana and divided Nepalese based on purity and impurity. Historically benefited and marginalized communities of Nepal.

In Nepal, as per the Prime Minister Janga Bahadur Rana's Muluki Ain (civil code) written in 1854 AD Nepal Social Hierarchy that has benefited group below group 1 people massively then group 2 people in some extent.
Below group 3, 4 and 5 were massively disadvantaged and marginalized by the state welfare system. Therefore, group 1 can't be compared with group 2 and group 2 can't be compared with group 3, 4 and 5 because group 1 and 2 are historically much more benefited in terms of empowering their people socio-economically.

  3. And I totally agree with you. I don't have a rudimentary backward vision. But unfortunately, many people in Nepal still have that thinking.

Yes I am aware of the Muluki Ain code that was totally biased against everyone except the few people who actually made the stupid law. Yes, Hill Brahmins, Chhetris and also high caste Newars have had a total domination over everybody else. Nepal's under-development is the direct result of the corrupt rulers and kings we've had. Nobody is denying that. The caste system/muluki ain, and the total unfairness with which it included non-Hindu Mongol-Kirat people of Nepal into it, plus on top of that forcing and subordinating them and making them akin to Shudra caste, was completely wrong.

What we have to do is to fight that, and bring the disadvantaged to justice. Yes, you are doing the right thing by disseminating these information to other people, and that is very important. But my only beef with you (and in general the adivasi janjati activists) is that the language you use. When exposing the truth and providing the right information, don't act as if it is a personal vandetta against each and every Bahun of Nepal. Yes, Brahmins made those stupid Manusmriti rules hundreds of years ago, but what does that have to do with a poor Bahun family in Darchula who is equally if not more poor than a Dalit guy nextdoor? Is he getting any arakshan from the government? Are his rights being heard? No!

And yes we have to end this system, and it can only end when people like you write and talk about it and give knowledge to our "underdeveloped" brains of our brothers and sisters of Nepal. Look at the Newar population for instance, till 50-40 years ago their caste system was as much if not more stricter than the larger Nepal's caste system. I mean you never saw a Pradhan marrying a Manandhar, or a Joshi doing farming. Look at them now, and how unified all of them are as one in preserving the language and culture. Sure, differences might be there, but Newaris definitely have a unity and the sense of caste is diminishing. We have to develop that to larger Nepali society.

  4. i don't understand what necessitated all these discussions about caste and ethnicity at this time when Westerners are intent on cultural homogenization by massive conversion of Hindus and Buddhists of South, East and SE Asian countries. Their only weapon to do this is the age-old strategy of 'divide and rule', creating a wide rift among eastern religions and we are manuring this with hatred, distrust and mutual leg-pulling. Wasn't it because of PN Shah's endeavor and farsightedness that we have been able to preserve and maintain our ancient cultures ? What would have been our identity by this time if Muslim invaders and Christian missionaries had been successful in their missions? Perhaps, the current fight for identity would not have been necessary as we all would have to change our first or last names into so and so. We would have been 'homogenized' and current political scenario would have been quite unimaginable !!!!!!!!!!!!! Would it have been acceptable to us? We only point at the black spot in the moon forgetting the silver lining which is the root cause of our degradation.
