We are GOD in ourselves!! BUT we've been programmed and hypnotized!

"Practically the whole human race is hypnotized, thinking whatever it is told to think."
- Ernest Holmes (1887-1960), an American spiritual writer, teacher, leader and the founder of a Spiritual movement known as Religious Science, a part of the greater New Thought movement, whose spiritual philosophy is known as "The Science of Mind."
Exactly! that's why I've been keep saying that we've been programmed by media, schools, colleges and religious dogmatic beliefs and we don't use our brain to think & understand things. We always listen others! How idiot we are actually am also getting insights from readings historical great people thoughts about the issues.
I was always skeptical to man-made gods i.e. Lord Buddha, Lord Shiva, Ganesh, Jesus, etc. Now I realised  that I was in some extent in right track since we are GOD in ourselves because when we lie to others or do bad things or do bad to others then we only know ourselves about it. Then if we know everything about ourselves and we can do whatever we wish then WE are God in ourselves.
"Each one of us is an outlet to God and an inlet to God."- Ernest Holmes
"God can do for us only what God can do through us."-Ernest Holmes

"We who wish to practice metaphysics must first, last, and all the time, realize that we are centers of the divine activity; we must know that whatever God is in the Universal, God is in the world in which we live. We must know that all things are made out of Spirit, which is First Cause; nothing comes before Spirit. Operating upon itself out of itself, it makes what it will out of its own perfect desire. We must think of Spirit as the Father/ Mother of our own life, eternally bound to us, eternally binding us to it.
We must know that Spirit not only can manifest through us, but that it wishes to do so; -- The Father seeks such to worship Him.? The practitioner who understands the truth knows that as long as God exists, we will exist -- that we could no more become nonexistent than God could. Walking, talking, moving in God, we must not only see the Divine Being as the great unknown Cause, but we must go a step further and see God as the great self-knowing, understanding power of Infinite Intelligence, thinking through our own thought and willing into our own lives all peace and all good. More than this, God must become within our own soul the greater self, the inner life, the inner light that is to light our path to the attainment of the greater ideals. God is to become the great friend of our life, understanding us and helping us at all times to understand all things.

Like produces like, attracts like, creates like. If we could see our thought and take a picture of it and of our conditions we would see no difference between the two, for they are really but the inside and the outside of the same thing. We cannot make affirmations for fifteen minutes a day and spend the rest of our time denying the thing which we have affirmed, and affirming the thing which we have denied, and obtain the results which we seek. We send out the word and it sets the power in motion; then we think the opposite thing that neutralizes the first word, and zero is the result."
 - Ernest Holmes (1887-1960), an American spiritual writer, teacher, leader and the founder of a Spiritual movement known as Religious Science, a part of the greater New Thought movement, whose spiritual philosophy is known as "The Science of Mind."

WHY India Claimed "Buddha was born in India"??

Without any logic based on the reality, facts and figures always controversial ideas, knowledge and thoughts are shared by majority of an influential Indian ancient sages, scholars, diplomats and politicians spreading rumours to keep innocent mass in an illusion and delusion so that they can fool to bull and rule over them. These are the main characteristics of Indian elites and ruling mentality people I suppose. Otherwise, they would have dare to spread the truth correcting the mistakes made by their ancestors, sages, scholars and diplomats instead of becoming a viral in spreading the false knowledge across the globe about the birth place of Siddhartha Gautam Buddha and also about genocide of girls/women ideologies and practices that they have it.

Indian elites and ruling mentality scholars and people always love to dominate women, poor and innocent people sharing their ill knowledge and thoughts using religious means in the named of gods and goddesses and making them believed that it is a God words. This has been proven from the fact that how their ancient sages written different holy scriptures such as the Law of Manu, Garuda Puran, etc which don't have any rational that are beneficial for humankind and humanity. These kinds of their holy scriptures are very much controversial and written to degrade certain group of people mainly women, innocent people, poor and dalit (untouchable) to fool, bull and rule over them promoting gender-based discrimination and caste system.

Similarly, India and some Indian always love to claim that Nepal is an Indian territory and Buddha was born in India. They might be doing this because our country is small compared to Pakistan and China their neighbours, we, Nepalese share everything (e.g. religions, customs, rituals, traditions, feast and festivals, etc) similar like Indian, and our border is open to India.

I like this statement made by Prof. Rajesh Kochhar, an Indologists from India who said:

“ Orissa is very poor. It will benefit greatly from tourism if Buddha were born there? Can we not rotate Buddha's birth place like the Olympics or the cricket match venue?”

He meant that the birth place of certain historical personages always made full of controversies.

Dragging Tourists by hook and crook is the main reason WHY Indian scholars and diplomats are always claiming that Buddha was born in India. Nepal can be prospered through tourism  because Nepal is a nature made heaven nation. We've everything what nature should provide to make it astonishing which other nations don't have it. This is the strength of Nepal and Nepal and what we've to do just correct and promote our attitude and  behavior  towards our guests and visitors and improve our infrastructure.

It is not the matter of any RELIGION to be promoted in Nepal. It is the matter of Tourism to be promoted for the national prosperity in the name of awaken person of this world.

Wake up Nepalese Wake up! Without prejudice and bull minded just critically THINK about WHY we, Nepalese needs to scream to the world to tell the truth to 7 billion people about awaken man of this world, who was physically born in Lumbini Nepal BUT spiritually awaken in India from where philosophy of Buddhism has been originated.

"Tourist from Buddhist Countries to get Visa on Arrival Sahai Inaugurates International Buddhist Conclave"

Union Tourism Minister Shri Subodh Kant Sahai has said that tourist from countries having sizable Buddhist population such as Thailand and Malaysia would be provided the facility of Visa on Arrival ( VOA). Shri Sahai expressed the hope that deliberations at the conclave would help us to carry on this process of identifying and developing more Buddhist circuits.

The Tourism Minister said that tourism today is being looked upon as a driver of economic growth. India too has seen rapid development in tourism over the last few years apart from promoting our rich heritage and culture and its diversity. He said during 12th Five Year Plan period we have identified around 35 major integrated circuits and destinations having potential to attract a large number of tourists. It is proposed to develop around 20 tourism parks on the lines of Sentosa Islands in Singapore

The conclave is being held with a view to showcasing and projecting the Buddhist Heritage of India. The delegates at the conclave include the International Buddhist scholars, tour operators and media both domestic and international who actively promote Buddhist Tourism. About 130 Overseas guests including Buddhist Scholars/Tour Operators and Media representatives (mainstream media and travel journalists) from 30 countries including Australia, Belgium, Bhutan, Cambodia, Canada, China, France, Holland, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Phillipines, Republic of Korea, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, USA and Vietnam are attending the conclave. More than one hundred Indian Tour Operators, Scholars, Media personnel from 16 States/UTs including Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Bihar are also attending the Conclave.

The Conclave is an important tourism marketing event designed to bring together international buyers from around the world particularly from the popular Buddhist destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, China etc. together, to interact, promote and sell, with the objective of increasing tourist arrivals to India and specifically to the Buddhist sites in different states.

The Conclave sessions include Technical sessions on Buddhism for scholars, and travel and Tourism sessions for the media and Tour operators. The delegates will also be taken for site visits to Bodh Gaya and Nalanda. The International Buddhist Conclave in India is being organized after a period of two years. The last Conclave was organized in Nalanda in February 2010.

Degrading attitude and belief towards girls/women in Hinduism

I respect everyone beliefs, feelings and appreciate their devotee based on their level of understanding towards the cleaver ancient time man-made religions and gods to govern a society in order to keep it unity, harmony and peace among certain groups as per their interest keeping them in an illusion and delusion. But am bit naughty if someone try to blindly support their faith with dogmatic thinking without trying to listen both aspects: positive and negative  side of it because nothing is perfect in this globe so everyone, especially so-called we, literate and educated people MUST try to understand what is good or bad to follow or continue and what needs to be condemned.

I read below statements in the Gurada Puran, a Hindu holy scripture that dominate, humiliate  abuse and harass women/girls in our society. Gosh! I don't know how anyone can hear and just leave this kind of speeches from an holy sages or priests. If those people who want to see our society  growth and development promoting gender equality in our society don't dare to speak out and stand up against these kinds of knowledge then WHAT and HOW we can expect from them to be nice and good in our society.

"A girl with curly hair, a round face, and a navel that curls to the  right makes her family flourish. A girl with a golden complexion and hands that resemble a red lotus is one in a thousand in terms of chastity. A woman with uneven hair and round eyes will always be  unhappy and will become a widow at a young age. A girl with a face like the full moon that shines like the rising sun, having wide eyes and red lips, will always be happy. If a woman has many lines  marking her body, she will suffer much. A few lines indicate poverty, red lines denote happiness, and black lines indicate slavery. A real wife is like a minister who handles the personal affairs of her  husband. She executes her duties like a real friend. She is affectionate like a mother and in bed, she is like the most expert courtesan. Such a wife is very auspicious.

A woman who has lines on the palm of her hand resembling a goad, a circle, or a wheel, marries a great man and gives birth to a son. If a woman has hair on her breasts, or if her lips are high, her  husband will die soon. If a woman has brown hair that curls upwards over her body, she is destined to become a slave, even though she may have been born a princess. If a woman's little finger and  thumb do not lay flat when placed on a flat surface, she will prove to be of ill repute. A woman who shakes the ground as she walks will become the killer of her husband. Smooth, oily eyes indicate a  happy married life. Oily teeth indicate a liking for food. Oily skin indicates sexual pleasure, and oily feet denotes the possession of conveyances. If a woman's feet are beautiful, with high arches and  copper-colored nails; if the soles of her feet have lines resembling a fish, goad, lotus, wheel or plough; and if they do not perspire—she will lead a happy life. If a woman's calves are free of hair, if her  thighs resemble the trunk of an elephant, if her vagina is broad like the leaf of an ashvattha tree, if her navel is deep, and if her breasts are free of hair—these are all considered to be auspicious."

We are What We EAT, Think and Do!!!

We are What We EAT, Think and Do!!! So, choice is always in our head, heart and hands WHAT we want in our life! Good or Bad, Prevent or Cure, Construction or Destruction, Health or Illness, Peace or War, Happiness or Sadness, etc.
We Nepalese 15-20 years back used to eat more VEGE/plants than Meat but since last 10-15 years onwards we are becoming more carnivorous (meat eaters) rather than herbivorous (plants eaters) thus our health is deteriorating with many health problems such as Cancer, Heart diseases, Asthma, etc which can be prevented eating organic veges.
I've realised that we are heading towards degradation, destruction rather than progression and construction. After getting some insight about the food that we eat and its effect in our body's cells I'm gradually changing my lifestyles and eating habits because I love myself more than anyone else thus don't want to hurt myself intentionally after knowing scientific evidences behind any issue that are detrimental to my body. Though I know that I'm prone to Osteoporosis I gave up drinking milk after reading the book titled "Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins because I came to know from that it is bad for our health. Likewise, I gave up eating red meats (beef, pork, goat, etc) and now eat some white meats (fish and poultry) only but also am process in giving up eating meats.  Similarly, I quit taking tea and coffee and soft drinks because I can to know that these things are also detrimental to my health.
In addition, I'm also changing my way of thinking and doing after knowing and experiencing the power of Positive thinking and the outcome of negative thinking and feeling in our lives.
This below evidence from Physicians Committee for Responsible Committee further helped me to open my blocked mind that convinced me further to ponder about my eating habits.
Vegetarian Foods: Powerful for Health

World-renowned figures as diverse as philosophers Plato and Nietzsche, political leaders Benjamin Franklin and Gandhi, and pop icons Paul McCartney and Bob Marley have all advocated a vegetarian diet. Science is also on the side of vegetarianism. Multitudes of studies have demonstrated the remarkable health benefits of a vegetarian diet.

“Vegetarian” is defined as avoiding all animal flesh, including fish and poultry. Vegetarians who avoid flesh, but do eat animal products such as cheese, milk, and eggs, are ovo-lacto-vegetarians (ovo = egg; lacto = milk, cheese, etc.). The ranks of those who abstain from all animal products are rapidly growing; these people are referred to as pure vegetarians or vegans. Scientific research shows that health benefits increase as the amount of food from animal sources in the diet decreases, so vegan diets are the healthiest overall.

Preventing Cancer:

Vegetarian diets—naturally low in saturated fat, high in fiber, and replete with cancer-protective phytochemicals—help to prevent cancer. Large studies in England and Germany have shown that vegetarians are about 40 percent less likely to develop cancer compared to meat-eaters [1-3]. In the United States, studies of Seventh-Day Adventists have shown significant reductions in cancer risk among those who avoided meat [4,5]. Similarly, breast cancer rates are dramatically lower in nations, such as China, that follow plant-based diets [6]. Interestingly, Japanese women who follow Western-style, meat-based diets are eight times more likely to develop breast cancer than women who follow a more traditional plant-based diet [7]. Meat and dairy products contribute to many forms of cancer, including cancer of the colon, breast, ovaries, and prostate.

Harvard studies that included tens of thousands of women and men have shown that regular meat consumption increases colon cancer risk by roughly 300 percent [8,9]. High-fat diets also encourage the body’s production of estrogens, in particular, estradiol. Increased levels of this sex hormone have been linked to breast cancer. A recent report noted that the rate of breast cancer among premenopausal women who ate the most animal (but not vegetable) fat was one-third higher than that of women who ate the least animal fat [10]. A separate study from Cambridge University also linked diets high in saturated fat to breast cancer.11 One study linked dairy products to an increased risk of ovarian cancer. The process of breaking down the lactose (milk sugar) into galactose evidently damages the ovaries [12]. Daily meat consumption triples the risk of prostate enlargement. Regular milk consumption doubles the risk and failure to consume vegetables regularly nearly quadruples the risk [13].

Vegetarians avoid the animal fat linked to cancer and get abundant fiber, vitamins, and phytochemicals that help to prevent cancer. In addition, blood analysis of vegetarians reveals a higher level of “natural killer cells,” specialized white blood cells that attack cancer cells. [14]

Beating Heart Disease:

Vegetarian diets also help prevent heart disease. Animal products are the main source of saturated fat and the only source of cholesterol in the diet. Vegetarians avoid these risky products. Additionally, fiber helps reduce cholesterol levels [15] and animal products contain no fiber. When individuals switch to a high-fiber, low-fat diet their serum cholesterol levels often drop dramatically [16,17]. Studies have demonstrated that a low-fat, high-fiber, vegetarian or vegan diet combined with stress reduction techniques, smoking cessation, and exercise, or combined with prudent drug intervention, could actually reverse atherosclerosis—hardening of the arteries [18,19]. Heart diets that include lean meat, dairy products, and chicken are much less effective, usually only slowing the process of atherosclerosis.
Lowering Blood Pressure

In the early 1900s, nutritionists noted that people who ate no meat had lower blood pressure [20]. They also discovered that vegetarian diets could, within two weeks, significantly reduce a person’s blood pressure [21]. These results were evident regardless of the sodium levels in the vegetarian diets. People who follow vegetarian diets typically have lower blood pressure [22-24]. No one knows exactly why vegetarian diets work so well, but probably cutting out meat, dairy products, and added fats reduces the blood’s viscosity (or “thickness”) which, in turn, brings down blood pressure [25]. Plant products are generally lower in fat and sodium and have no cholesterol at all. Vegetables and fruits are also rich in potassium, which helps lower blood pressure.

Preventing and Reversing Diabetes:

Non-insulin-dependent (adult-onset) diabetes can be better controlled and sometimes even eliminated through a low-fat, vegetarian diet along with regular exercise [26]. Such a diet, low in fat and high in fiber and complex carbohydrates, allows insulin to work more effectively. The diabetic person can more easily regulate glucose levels. While a vegetarian diet cannot eliminate the need for insulin in people with type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes, it can often reduce the amounts of insulin used. Some scientists believe that insulin-dependent diabetes may be caused by an auto-immune reaction to dairy proteins. [27,28]

Gallstones, Kidney Stones, and Osteoporosis:

Vegetarian diets have been shown to reduce one’s chances of forming kidney stones and gallstones. Diets that are high in protein, especially animal protein, tend to cause the body to excrete more calcium, oxalate, and uric acid. These three substances are the main components of urinary tract stones. British researchers have advised that persons with a tendency to form kidney stones should follow a vegetarian diet [29]. The American Academy of Family Physicians notes that high animal protein intake is largely responsible for the high prevalence of kidney stones in the United States and other developed countries and recommends protein restriction for the prevention of recurrent kidney stones. [30]

Similarly, high-cholesterol, high-fat diets—the typical meat-based diet—are implicated in the formation of gallstones. The consumption of meaty diets, compared to vegetarian diets, has been shown to nearly double the risk of gallstones in women [31].

For many of the same reasons, vegetarians are at a lower risk for osteoporosis. Since animal products force calcium out of the body, eating meat can promote bone loss. In nations with mainly vegetable diets (and without dairy product consumption), osteoporosis is less common than in the U.S.,even when calcium intake is also less than in the U.S[32]. Calcium is important, but there is no need to get calcium from dairy products. For more information on protecting your bones, contact PCRM for additional reference materials or visit StrongBones.org.

Asthma:

A 1985 Swedish study demonstrated that individuals with asthma practicing a vegan diet for a full year have a marked decrease in the need for medications and in the frequency and severity of asthma attacks. Twenty-two of the 24 subjects reported improvement by the end of the year. [33]

Common Concerns:

Some people still worry about whether a vegetarian diet can provide all essential nutrients. However, it is very easy to have a well-balanced diet with vegetarian foods, since these foods provide plenty of protein. Careful combining of foods is not necessary. Any normal variety of plant foods provides more than enough protein for the body’s needs. Although there is somewhat less protein in a vegetarian diet than a meat-eater’s diet, this is actually an advantage. Excess protein has been linked to kidney stones, osteoporosis, and possibly heart disease and some cancers. A diet focused on beans, whole grains, and vegetables contains adequate amounts of protein without the “overdose” most meat-eaters get.

Calcium is easy to find in a vegetarian diet. Many dark green leafy vegetables and beans are loaded with calcium, and some orange juices, non-dairy “milks,” and cereals are calcium-fortified. Iron is plentiful in whole grains, beans, and fruits.
Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is a genuine issue for vegans, although very easy to deal with. Found mainly in animal products, small amounts may be found in plant products due to bacterial contamination [34,35]. However, these plant and fermented foods, such as spirulina, sea vegetables, tempeh, and miso, do not provide an active and reliable source,36 so vitamin B12 must be obtained elsewhere in the diet. Regular intake of vitamin B12 is important to meet nutritional needs. Good sources include all common multiple vitamins (including vegetarian vitamins), fortified cereals, nutritional yeast, and fortified soymilk. It is especially important for pregnant women, breast-feeding mothers, and children to get enough vitamin B12.

Special Concerns: Pregnancy, Infants, and Children:

During pregnancy, nutritional needs increase. The American Dietetic Association has found vegan diets adequate for fulfilling nutritional needs during pregnancy, but pregnant women and nursing mothers should supplement their diets with vitamins B12 and D [36]. Most doctors also recommend that pregnant women supplement their diet with iron and folic acid, although vegetarians normally consume more folic acid than meat-eaters.

Vegetarian women have a lower incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnancy and significantly more pure breast milk. Analyses of vegetarians’ breast milk show that the levels of environmental contaminants in their milk are much lower than in non-vegetarians [37]. Studies have also shown that in families with a history of food allergies, when women abstain from allergenic foods, including milk, meat, and fish, during pregnancy, they are less likely to pass allergies onto the infant [38]. Mothers who drink milk pass cow antibodies along to their nursing infants through their breast milk. These antibodies can cause colic.

Vegetarian children also have high nutritional needs, but these are met within a vegetarian diet. A vegetarian menu is life extending. As young children, vegetarians may grow more gradually, reach puberty somewhat later, and live substantially longer than do meat-eaters.

Buddha is NOT a GOD and Buddhism is NOT a RELIGION

Exactly!
However, ironically Buddha BLIND followers and believers consider him as a GOD and his practical philosophy, Buddhism is considered as a RELIGION. Actually neither Buddha was/is a GOD nor Buddhism is a RELIGION.

Buddha was an intuitive and awaken person who became a philosopher
who could rationalize cause and effect relationship of each and every happening and incident based on the law of nature and by generating practical philosophy for general people who wanted to be awaken/enlightened their self  thus he has been well respected by the past and present scientists. However, one monk in Sri Lanka said buddhism can be described better with the words "self psychotherapy" than religion or philosophy.

It is worth listening the talk from the monk, Ajahn Brahm from The Buddhist Society of Western Australia about Buddhism, Religion? access from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIeLuMX-2p8&feature=relmfu.

Though I was born in a Tamang community who in Nepal is considered by birth Buddhist but never ever thought and believe on GOD and also was not keen about Buddha teachings. Unless and until I knew the essence of Buddha teachings and true meaning of Buddhism as a practical philosophy based on the law of nature I was always sceptical but admire the practice against killing animals and else. But now I've been truly convinced with Buddha teaching because it talks about the LAW OF KARMA (Kamma) and the individual's MIND POWER.

Though I never ever believe on GOD but I believe in the law of nature and natural forces that exist in this world which has created living things and beings and now I've been realizing that I am in some how is in right direction. Thank to the law of nature and cosmic force which have guided me up to here in the right path knowing or unknowingly helping me to walk in the proper direction that I have been appreciating while reflecting my past to present paths.

One of the greatest minds on earth, Albert Einstein accepted that only Buddhism has charasteristics of a cosmic religion. He said "The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism."

After reading above statement and keep exploring about Buddha teachings and listening talks from different psychologists and scientists including monks and also about "DO BUDDHISTS BELIEVE IN GOD ?" from the monk (access from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFdz5RPj-3s&feature=youtu.be) I felt good because Buddhists believe in the law of karma (Kamma), the law of causative rather than mythology like we can hear in other religions.

Worth listening the talk  the monk from The Buddhist Society of Western Australia about the "Law of Kamma" access from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTuxmFYQJjs&feature=relmfu

In our discussion in the facebook Scott Schuele, Founder Director of Nalanda LGBT Buddhist Cultural and Resource Center said "The Buddha said it was fruitless to even ponder the notion of a creator mainly because it keeps us in linear thinking- everything has to have a beginning and an end, which is not true . Enlightenment or nirvana is a state of mind, not a place. Some reach it after a lifetime, that is the primary Theraveda view. The Mahayana and the Tantric view is that it can be accomplished in a current lifetime. There are Tibetan masters I view has enlightened. He further added "The Buddha was asked what he taught, he said, " I teach one thing and one thing only suffering and the end of suffering. Buddhism is not a religion in the traditional sense because it doesn't believe in a creator outside of the self. It is not a philosophy in the traditional sense for as the Buddha at a certain points words and theory are meaningless and need to be let go of."

Buying Nepalese Faith through charitable work "MONEY"

"When the white man first came to South Africa he had the Bible and we had the land; now we have the Bible and the white man has the land."-Nelson Mandela

Indeed it is the bitter reality that MONEY can buy INNOCENT, Elites and rulers man-made Poverty sufferers and also idiot and blocked minded literate people who are after FAKE Happiness and are SELFISH.

Besides any donation or charitable work we've to understand their vested interest. I don't blame to any religion nor do I blame to rich or elites but I can blame to some religious and rich people with ill motive and their vested interest to pull, fool, bull and rule innocent people sentiment and mind cheating the victims of man-made poverty that they force them to change their belief and faith. It's an irony reality of rich, elites and ruling mentality people and politicians/rulers who are making them blindly to follow others faith giving up their own just because of their poverty, ignorance and illiteracy.

However, those who are aware of such vested interest of certain group of people of their donation and charity and are after humanity and prosperity of this universe to preserve cultural heritage and respect their rights must help to come out of their illusion and delusion to those innocent, illiterate, rural and sufferer of man-made poverty as stated by Nelson Mandela "Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings." Otherwise, there is no choice for poor and sufferers that's why they love to change their faiths believing that they can be healthy and wealthy. Anyone people have choice so anyone can become any faith believers BUT they must know and provide information of ALL faiths then depending upon their level of understanding and acceptance they can choose what to follow or not. Innocent people shouldn't be imposed to follow any faith just because of their ignorance and poverty and black mailing them for their condition.

Cool! Nepal will be soon Christian country from Hindu/ Buddhist nation since we have church almost in each and every village and ward in the municipality areas. Access of services is very crucial to the needy people, which is making possible by Christian charitable organizations. We've to thank our government and elites for helping them to make this possible!!!

Click Here to watch the evidence captured by Belgium citizen who had visited Nepal: "Little Jesus la Christiano au Nepal on Vimeo" ► http://vimeo.com/11464345

Though the meritorious deed of charity is highly praised by every religion. However, for charity compared to other faith followers I've noticed that Christians are far ahead than others. We have to appreciate, acknowledge and accept this fact whether we like it or not.

The essence of true charity is to give something without expecting anything in return for the gift. If a person expects some material benefit to arise from his gift, he is only performing an act of bartering and not charity. A charitable person should not make other people feel indebted to him or use charity as a way of exercising control over them. He should not even expect others to be grateful, for most people are forgetful though not necessarily ungrateful. The act of true charity is wholesome, has no strings attached, and leaves both the giver and the recipient free.

Want to EAT, SUFFER and DIE or Want to Go for ORGANIC and Live Happy, Healthy and Wealthy!!!

Go for ORGANIC Farming for Food, Diary Products and Meats!! OR
EAT, SUFFER and DIE from CANCER, Arthritis, Dementia, Alzheimer, Inflammation, heart diseases, etc. Again choice is always in our head (mind/brain), heart (emotion/feelings) and hands (action).

Cool I gave up drinking milk after reading a book titled "Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins and on the process of giving up meat (already stop eating red meats-he goat besides I don't eat beef and buff-good on me) though I knew I need calcium to prevent me from Osteoporosis (weakening and thinning of bones) but now days I'm trying to fulfill my calcium requirement from plants and vegetables sources.

"Alarming levels of antibiotics found in milk"

Findings from a study being conducted by the Central Food Laboratory showed that of the 120 milk samples collected from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Pokhara and Kavre, 67 had unacceptable levels of drugs linked to many ailments.

Intolerable levels of antibiotics such as penicillin and amoxicillin were detected in milk samples, said Jeevan Prabha Lama, Director General at the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control.

She said farmers are attracted towards antibiotics due to the short-term benefits it brings. “For instance, farmers give oxacillin to buffaloes to stimulate milk glands,” informed Lama. “Milk samples from Kathmandu Metropolitan City were found to have an average of 300 parts per billion (ppb) of antibiotics,” said Kanchan Kumar Nayak, senior food officer of the department. As Nepal does not have its own standard to limit levels of antibiotic residue in milk, the country has adopted European Union standards. According to the EU standards, less than four ppb of antibiotics in milk is considered acceptable. “But milk sold in major towns in the country has levels exceeding 300 ppb,” said the officer.

High levels of penicillin were found in milk samples from Lalitpur, the findings show. Similarly, amoxicillin residue was high in samples from Pokhara (Kaski district) and Bhaktapur. Samples from Chitwan had high levels of ampicillin. “Milk sold in Kathmandu metropolis had high levels of all three antibiotics,” said Nayak.

Regular consumption of antibiotics cause inflaming of the urinary system, diseases of the skin, eyes and bones and brain cell damage, said Lama.

“Respiratory problems among kids may be linked to consumption of antibiotics,” she said. Uncontrolled consumption of antibiotics has a more severe effect. “Disease-causing microbes develop resistance against antibiotics and the drugs become ineffective,” she warned.

Meat contaminated

KATHMANDU: A study conducted by the Central Food Laboratory has shown that chicken meat on sale is also not safe. “We found high levels of antibiotics in chicken being sold in the Valley and in Chitwan,” said officials at the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control. They said of the 50 samples tested, 10 were found to have high levels of antibiotics. Five had ‘extreme’ levels of drugs. Tetracycline, sulfonamide, penicillin, aminoglycoside and micro lead were also found in chicken.

Resistance and challenges in producing a Midwife in Nepal

It is really frustrating to hear from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Chief Nurse Administrator Madam Ishwori Devi Shrestha that Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) President Daya Laxmi Vadiya and Madam Ishwori had dispute yesterday (4 Sep) about the need of Midwife in the country during the workshop on Development of Manual and Assessment Tool for Bachelor Midwifery Education Program organized by Nepal Nursing Association from 3-7 September, 2012 funded by UNFPA Nepal.

Very sad to hear that NNC President madam is totally against Midwifery Education Program in Nepal and even during the MoHP dignitaries meeting held in the chairmanship of Health Secretary few weeks before to discuss about the Midwifery Education Program she has strongly opposed in producing such human resource in the country. However, very glad to know that all MoHP dignitaries had strong support to produce a high quality midwife in the country as per the Long term plan of National Policy on Skilled Birth Attendants 2006 in improving pregnant mothers and newborn's health in rural Nepal. The policy has recognised the need to produce separate cadre of professional midwives as a crucial human resource for safe motherhood, providing service and leadership in midwifery for the country.

However, according to Madam Ishwori sounds to me that NNC President has no idea about the importance of midwifery services in reducing maternal and newborn deaths in rural and resource poor settings that's why NNC President madam was insisting to provide only 9 months midwifery training to Auxiliary Nurse-Midwife who had obtained 18 months pre-service training after grade 12 passed.

Our health policy planners and decision-makers are ALWAYS after easy and quick fix strategies and those mid-level planners and decision-makers who are appointed due political affiliation are ALWAYS after LOW QUALITY HUMAN RESOURCE for Health so that they can make Happy to their followers/Puchhar. This really disgusted me and feel very sad and bad to rural people who always have to depend upon low level and quality human resource for health and because of that they have to sacrifice their lives. WHAT an insensitive so-called health professional seniors and leaders we've who even don't deserve to call seniors and leaders. Really appreciated the Government of Nepal who had thought about producing HIGH quality Human Resource for Health as stated in the National Policy on Skilled Birth Attendants developed in 2006: 4.1.3 Long-Term (Pre-service) Measures: MoHP is in the process of initiating a new cadre of Professional Midwife (PM) as a crucial human resource for safe motherhood, providing service and leadership in midwifery for the country. Towards Skilled Birth Attendance in Nepal: Rapid Appraisal of the Current Situation and Outline Strategy, WHO, February 2005, “PM is proposed that this programme will be of three year duration with entry requirement of 10+2 and the trainees as far as possible be selected and recruited from and by their own communities, to ensure that these midwives will take up assignments where they are most needed. They should be skilled to deal with normal pregnancy, birth and postpartum (including neonatal) care and identification and referral of complications of mother and baby. They must also know at minimum first line management, but when referral remains problematic, they will need more skills to manage complications to a large extent.”

In the facebook discussion my nurse friend, Sushila Karki  from UK working as a Registered Nurse said "Nepal really need speciality education system such midwifery ,paediatric and adult. Policy maker should keen about professional value rather than commercial .talking from outside is very easy but I was involved in Nepal nursing education system so to be an honest am not happy et al how is our educational system. After 3-years Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) in Nursing program after grade 10 passed must have post registration degree, midwifery, adult n paediatric rather than Bachelor in Nursing (BN) and Master in Nursing (MN). We have high mortality and morbidly . I don't want explain about our PCL production ,it's self explanatory due to commercial production .once u done BN and MN, you are not touching patient but when you see developed country. If you do degree, you are providing quality care in compared of junior. I don't want to discuss more than this public forum .i personally strong stand for speciality degree after PCL or registration for quality care."

My response to her concern was "Exactly Sushila Karki you are absolutely right but our conservative mindset and fear of change mentality is not allowing us to move forward and sadly nursing leaders are not in favour of such education to introduce in Nepal because of FEAR and Threat that they might have in their mindset. Ishwori Devi Shrestha madam has given me permission to share this message in public because she was so much frustrated to hear such negativity of our regulatory body president against the sensitive issues."

Every expectant (pregnant) mother deserve to access high quality midwifery care. No one has right to go against her rights & choice. If we have bad Karma (intentional bad thoughts & deeds) against such services then he/she will be punished sooner or later by the nature/cosmic force because of her/his bad Karma. I always Love the Logic behind KARMA and Theory of Karma as per Buddha, a spiritual leader and a pragmatic philosopher!

"The Pali term Karma literally means action or doing. Any kind of intentional action whether mental, verbal, or physical, is regarded as Karma. It covers all that is included in the phrase "thought, word and deed". Generally speaking, all good and bad action constitutes Karma. In its ultimate sense Karma means all moral and immoral volition. Involuntary, unintentional or unconscious actions, though technically deeds, do not constitute Karma, because volition, the most important factor in determining Karma, is absent. Karma is the law of moral causation. The theory of Karma is a fundamental doctrine in Buddhism. This belief was prevalent in India before the advent of the Buddha. Nevertheless, it was the Buddha who explained and formulated this doctrine in the complete form in which we have it today.

What is the cause of the inequality that exists among mankind?
Why should one person be brought up in the lap of luxury, endowed with fine mental, moral and physical qualities, and another in absolute poverty, steeped in misery?
Why should one person be a mental prodigy, and another an idiot?
Why should one person be born with saintly characteristics and another with criminal tendencies?
Why should some be linguistic, artistic, mathematically inclined, or musical from the very cradle?
Why should others be congenitally blind, deaf, or deformed?|
Why should some be blessed, and others cursed from their births?

Either this inequality of mankind has a cause, or it is purely accidental. No sensible person would think of attributing this unevenness, this inequality, and this diversity to blind chance or pure accident. In this world nothing happens to a person that he does not for some reason or other deserve. Usually, men of ordinary intellect cannot comprehend the actual reason or reasons. The definite invisible cause or causes of the visible effect is not necessarily confined to the present life, they may be traced to a proximate or remote past birth.

According to Buddhism, this inequality is due not only to heredity, environment, "nature and nurture", but also to Karma. In other words, it is the result of our own past actions and our own present doings. We ourselves are responsible for our own happiness and misery. We create our own Heaven. We create our own Hell. We are the architects of our own fate." Source: http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/karma.htm

Social worker Bikesh Shrestha "Little knowledge is dangerous things so we need to educate Madam Vaidya."

Actually Madam Ishwori Devi Shrestha is strongly stand to strengthen midwifery education and services to reach to rural women and in providing high quality midwifery services but madam Daya Laxmi Vadiya is against it unfortunately. I don't understand WHY Madam Daya Laxmi Vadiya would like misuse her power and going against MoHP Policy because few years back she was very much in support. BUT I could understand that may be her mentality has been changed because of her colleagues at Nepal Nursing Council think producing Bachelor Level Midwife is like a step to Nurse. BUT she MUST understand that she won't be in that POSITION ALWAYS. She has to understand and internalise that WE Nurses are JACK OF ALL but MASTER OF NONE because nurses learn and know everything but they are not specialized in any field of care in the context of Nepal.Nursing is a profession within the healthcare sector focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. Whereas Midwives are specialists in low-risk pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, although they are trained to recognize and deal with deviations from the norm as well as certain high risk situations. Obstetricians, in contrast, are specialists in illness related to childbearing and in surgery. The two professions can be complementary, but may be at odds in some countries, where obstetricians are taught to "actively manage" labor, while midwives are taught not to intervene unless necessary. Most midwives are familiar with the process of physiological management and the use of gravity in aiding the process of labor.

In the change process to have resistance, which is not surprising because it challenges our mechanical routine practice and thoughts. Anyway, midwife education program will start in Nepal possibly from next year at least in 3 universities since Government of Nepal is committed to make it happened..

Health or Wealth (Genetically modified/Engineered seeds and crops): Which needs to be chosen?

I am totally against genetically modified (GM) or Genetically Engineered (GE) seeds and crops, and  MONSANTO products knowing its consequences to humankind and our earth/environment. Since last year I have been keep advocating through social media about its hazards to human health and earth. But some of the blind-minded people without trying to learn about its pros and cons keep lobbying for these kinds of products to introduce in Nepal thinking that it will solve food insecurity among poor, rural and developing nation's farmers and government, which is insane due to their blocked mind don't want to be sensitive to health and the earth.

Good luck genetically modified (GM) or Genetically Engineered (GE) seeds and crops OR MONSANTO blind-mined lovers, who love to promote such food to prevent food insecurity!!!! Choice is in our head, hearts and hands how we would like to die, eating too much like a King/Elites and suffer from many health problems (Cancer, Arthritis, Inflammation, etc) or like a beggar and keep body slim and fit!

"Genetically Engineered crops contain bacterial DNA that may be hazardous to health"

Summary for laymen by PSRAST (Physicians and Scientists for Responsible Application of Science and Technology)

"The bacterial genes used in genetically modified (GM) crops have been found to have significant impacts on the individuals ingesting GM crops. The impacts include inflammation, arthritis and lymphoma promotion. The consequence of GM food genes being incorporated into the chromosomes of somatic cells of those consuming GM food and their unborn has been ignored by those charged with evaluating the hazards of GM crops."-Dr. Joe Cummins, Emeritus Professor of Genetics, University of Western Ontario, Canada

All genetically eningeered crops contain genetic elements from bacterial DNA. They are part of the artificial genetic elements used to ensure that the inserted genes will be accepted by the genetically manipulated organism. Also the genes for pesticide protection, like the Bacillus Thuringiensis (Bt) gene and most herbicide tolerance genes contain such DNA.

This DNA contains a genetic element (the so called "CpG motif") that stimulates the immune system to start a sequence of reactions leading to inflammation. Animal experiments have demonstrated that exposure to these genetic elements may lead to inflammation, arthritis and lymphoma (a malignant blood disease).

Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that DNA is not broken down in the gastro-intestinal tract to the extent formerly believed. Ingested DNA sequences large enough to contain whole genes have remained intact and entered the blood and tissues.

This means that there are reasons to suspect that eating GE foods may increase the risk for contracting said disorders. No research has been done to exclude this possibility.

Professor Cummins concludes: "The available evidence is sufficient to support a moratorium on the massive intake of GM crops by human populations until the genetic consequences are resolved in the laboratory."
This is just one of a number of potentially serious hazards that have been neglected in the safety evaluation of GE foods. It is absurd that GE foods have been on the market without proper safety evaluation, see also Inadequate GE food safety assessment. [EL] It is seriously irresponsible to allow them to be sold without careful labelling.

Girls trafficking culture in Tamang community of Nepal: WHY and HOW it has established?

Though I belong to Tamang community I am from the eastern part of Nepal, Sunsari district Dharan and had grown up in a mix society of different castes/ethnicity. Therefore, although my surname is "Tamang" I never ever felt that I belong to Tamang community since I don't speak Tamang language nor do I have good knowledge about Tamang's culture and tradition. In my family only my mother can speaks Tamang language but my father and my four siblings don't understand and speak Tamang language like me.
First time in my life in 1995 while I was working for Koshi Zonal Hospital as a registered nurse I got an opportunity to receive Mental Health Training in Mental Hospital of Lalitpur district in Kathmandu valley. During the training period my residential stay had been arranged by the training organizer at Aasha Deep Nepal, a rehabilitation centre for mentally ill people. From their when home visits were made to follow up rehabilitated mentally ill patients in Kavre district along with Aasha Deep Nepal staff member he told me that in this district despite people are very much socioeconomically backward and deprived but all the houses with corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheet roofs had their daughter in Indian brothels for sex trade because surrounding Kathmandu valley Tamang people sell their daughter to India for their income. He also told me that Tamang people of these areas are very much happy when daughters are born and become sad when sons are born. Hearing such I was shocked and amazed thus couldn't even imagine how anyone can do such an evil and devil act against their own daughters.
In 1996 after I joined an NGO, Women's Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) based in Kathmandu again I heard the same stories. Staff members at WOREC told me that many girls from Tamang community have been trafficked for sex trade by their own fathers and brothers and taken them to sell in brothels in India. This made me wonder why these Tamang people surrounding Kathmandu valley are doing such to their own daughters and sisters.
As my developmental sector career started from WOREC in 1996 and by joining this organisation I got the opportunity to work with trafficked girls returned from Indian brothels. First time in Nepal, NGO sector challenged government of Nepal by bringing trafficked girls from Indian brothels. Of the five NGOs namely, Maiti Nepal, ABC Nepal, Shanti Nepal and Navajyoti Kendra including WOREC, out of 121 returnees WOREC received 11 girls initially to facilitate them in the rehabilitation and reintegration to their families and societies. After a month eight more girls were received, which means total 19 girls were accommodated by WOREC and I was the one who was responsible to look after them since I've been assigned as a Rehabilitation Incharge and Warden of the Centre. Of the many girls returned India were from castes/ethnicities but came to know from them that mainly Tamang girls are the one trafficked to India and also brothel owners are also mainly Tamang women. I was surprised hearing the same stories third time in my life from trafficked girls.
When I first heard about Tamang people selling their daughter from Aasha Deep Nepal staff member I listened and ignored. But when I heard about the same story second time from WOREC staff member I started to wonder WHY Tamang people surrounding Kathmandu valley are doing such. Then when I heard third time the same stories from the trafficked girls started to deeply and critically wonder WHY Tamang family residing surroundings to Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal are doing such criminal act to their own believed daughters, sisters and wives.
Reading the news, articles, documents and hearing such news from media and also from those brothel returnee girls came to learn that in Nepal, Tamang community is the number one in supplying and selling their daughters to India [1, 2]. It is interesting to know from the history that in the late 17th century, the brothel area of Kamathipura was first established to service British troops in what was then called Bombay, India [1, 2]. Moreover, adjoining districts to Kathmandu namely, Sindhuplachowk, Kavre, Nuwakot, Dhading and Makwanpur where Tamang community are densely reside girls have been trafficking since ancient times. It is really annoying to read that "Sex sells and girls from villages like Ichowk, Mahankal and Talmarang in the Sindhupalchowk district in northern central Nepal are full of girls who are more than anxious for a better life."  Moreover, Tamang girls have been victims of trafficking for generations. This is not just because of the ignorance, illiteracy but due to political reasons and grand designed plan of former rulers, Ranas and Shahs rather. Everyone says it is because of the poverty and lack of education but I do not agree with this because there are many communities such as dalit (untouchables), Tharu, Chepang including other castes/ethnicities who are relatively marginalised and poor compared to Tamang but their daughters and girls are not  trafficked and sell for sexual affair.
Exploring historical background of Nepal I came to realized that Tamang ethnic group being largest and surrounding to the Kathmandu valley was always threat to Nepal's rulers that's the reason they had been strategically marginalized since 18th century formulating state law categorizing them as an Enslaveable Alcohol Drinker in hierarchical classification they fall under 3rd group of caste/ ethnicity. Men from Tamang ethnic were not allow to join any security forces such as Army and Police. They were used as a porter "Pipa" of rulers and of the Kathmandu valley and their girls and daughters had been used for sex trade both within and outside Nepal to GENOCIDE them. In the Royal Palace Tamang girls were used as a sex slave, concubine and also some of them sold toe. Therefore, girls trafficking in Tamang community is a political issue that has been started from Sindhupalchok, a home district of  an influential politician of Nepal during the regime of kingship, currently chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP = National Democratic Party)Pashupati Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana. He had hold important positions in the representative system of Panchayat devised by King Mahendra, in particular he was Minister of State for ' Education (1977-78) with the addition of Transport and Tourism (1978-79), Minister for Water Resources (1983-84) with Communications (1984-86), Minister for Panchayat and local Development (1986- 88). After the end of the panchayat, he was Minister for Foreign Affairs, for Finance, Water Resources and Communications (1990-1994) and Minister for Water Resources (1995-97 and 1997-98). Pashupati SJB Rana has been continuously represented in Parliament from 1973 to 2006. Similarly, in Nuwakot Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohini from the same political background had been in the top political appointment as a Member National Legislature, Kingdom of Nepal, Kathmandu, 1971—1975, 1981, National Development Council, Kathmandu. He was a Finance minister His Majesty's Government of Nepal, since 1983 and also a Minister of housing and physical planning. Dr. Lohini electoral area is the same area of Nuwakot district where hub of girls trafficking in Nepal is considered. These include Ghyangphedi and Sikharbesi village development committees, the place just opposite to Sindhupalchowk district's village development committee "Helambu" from where girls used to bring to the palaces in Kathmandu as a sex slave and concubine since 19th Century. Although the precursors to trafficking can even be traced back to the Rana Regime, when young girls from Sindhupalchok, Kavre and Nuwakot used to be brought to the palaces in Kathmandu as concubines but thereafter these both politicians could be the main hidden Mafia in promoting the industry in the trafficking of Nepali girls, especially Tamang is a very lucrative business. It can include forced labor, domestic and factory work [2]. Young girls who are teenagers are often used in the sex-trafficking industries, though, because of the extreme profit for traffickers and the very low incidence of law enforcement arrests against sex-industry racketeers.
Historical evidence suggested India ruled by British rulers in order to fulfill sexual pleasure and satisfaction of  the British troops of East India Company girls from surrounding Kathmandu valley mainly from Tamang community started to supply in 19th century during Rana Regime.
Analyzing how rulers rule in this world or any society has interesting strategy. In fact, they rule by naming, shaming and blaming those people who they think are their enemy due to either large number of population or historically challenge rulers. In fact, rulers and ruling class, color, creed and caste male members strategy of Nepal has always to degrade, dominate, discriminate and despair rest of the population of Nepal proven from their intentional action and reaction to date that almost each and every Nepalese had gained experiential understanding and knowledge about it.
As a nurse when I first came to Kathmandu in 1995 to obtain my training on Mental Health as I said earlier I heard about how Tamang people surrounding areas of the Kathmandu valley sell their daughters to earn money forcing them to do sex trade in India. From that time I have been keep hearing and reading articles from national newspapers and media about it.
I realized that always ruling class, color, creed and caste of Nepal just LOVE to play BLAME GAME to historically marginalized and deprived ethnic tribe of Nepal, "Tamang" accusing them famously socially naming and shaming ethnic as whole as a "Daughter seller ethnicity (छोरी बेच्ने जाति)" without knowing historical facts and figures HOW and WHY feudal Rana Regime of Nepal started to trafficked inhabitants of the surrounding districts of the Kathmandu valley daughters to serve as concubines for the Rana rulers and their families male members.
Being a learned person it is disgusting to read following evidences about girls trafficking in Nepal.
Human Rights Watch/Asia report of 1995 reports [3]:
"Human Rights Watch/Asia chose to focus on Bombay because it appears to have the highest concentration of Nepali girls and women in prostitution. In Bombay, according to the calculations of an organization of Nepali brothel staff, there are about 20,000 Nepalis in the city's flesh trade -- other agencies estimate that the actual number is closer to 50,000. Most of these women and girls work for Nepali gharwalis (madams), and almost all are illiterate. Seventy percent are thought to belong to ethnic minority groups such as the Tamang, Gurung, Magar, and Sherpa. Women and girls from Nepal's Hindu majority communities comprise about ten to fifteen percent. Sixty percent of these girls and women are thought to have contracted HIV.
For decades, members of these largely Buddhist communities like the Tamangs (the preponderant majority), Sherpas, Lamas and Gurungs have been targeted by brokers who supply women and girls to Indian brothels, children of both sexes for work in carpet and garment factories in Nepal and India, and people of all ages for road building and construction. The Tamangs live in large numbers in the remote hill villages of Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Kavre and Dhading districts, but the search for jobs has scattered them in small numbers throughout the country.
Trafficking of women from Nepal's hill communities began in the nineteenth century, when the feudal Rana family, a line of prime ministers who ruled Nepal from 1846 to 1951, began recruiting Tamang girls from the Helambu (Yolmo) region of Sindhupalchowk, northeast of Kathmandu, to serve as concubines for the ruler and his family. Owning concubines, or "Helambu girls," became a mark of high social status. The oligarchical Rana regime was overthrown by the hereditary monarchy in 1951, but the recruitment of women and girls continued, only now they were sold to brothel owners in India's red-light districts. The internationalization of trafficking in girls and women was due in part to a political alliance forged between Nepal and India in the last days of the Rana regime that opened the border between the two countries for travel and trade.
Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok and other hill districts in the Bagmati Zone around Kathmandu became particularly notorious for trafficking. But as Indian demand for Nepali prostitutes grew, and the threat of AIDS increased the demand for new girls, girls from many castes and communities and from other regions of Nepal were recruited for sale in Indian brothels. Today, instances of forced trafficking of women and girls for prostitution in India have been reported in virtually every district of Nepal and from all castes and ethnic groups.
Tamang peasants are among Nepal's most impoverished minority groups. Today, according to Jyothi Sanghera, an activist who presented her findings to the U.N. Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery in 1991, an average Tamang family owns less than one hectare of unirrigated land. Most were already tenants before Nepal implemented a series of land reform acts in the 1950s, at which time the vast majority were evicted -- left landless or with small plots of arid land on steep hill slopes. No longer able to survive on subsistence farming, and with virtually no access to education or other means of entry into a cash-based economy, the Tamang were forced to migrate in search of other means of support. They found it in low-paying seasonal work as porters or manual laborers in the lowlands, or on road construction sites in India. Tamang men were also recruited for the Gurkha regiments of the British and Indian armies. But these communities soon found there was another, more lucrative way to earn money. "A commodity... has been created that sells, and sell[s] very well at that, in the labour market of the sex industry: the body and sexual labour of the Tamang woman...
There are two distinct patterns to the trafficking of girls and women from Nepal. The best known and oldest involves the enticement of mainly Tamang girls from hill districts where the flesh trade has become an almost traditional source of income."
Since 18th century in the Tamang community girls trafficking culture and tradition had started and established by Rana Regime, however, these days not just Tamang community but also other ethnicities and caste groups girls and women are trafficked which I myself had eye witnessed while I worked for WOREC in 1996. Of the girls whom I rehabilitated by them some girls were from Khas Arya (Dailekh district), Dalit (Lalitpur and Sundari district), Rai (Solukhumbu district) and others. In the past when feudal aristocrat rulers of Nepal had strove to degrade, dominate, discriminate and marginalized Tamang community living in the surrounding Kathmandu valley now even ruling class color, creed and caste community members female members have been becoming a victim of girls trafficking. No wonder why an ancient Chinese philosopher, Confucius had said, “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”
It has proven that girls trafficking is a very lucrative business for male who had been involving in politics because for politicians there is no other means in Nepal to generate income which they need for election and also to keep their followers in close contact bribing them. This is one of the reason why corruption is very much deeply rooted in Nepalese society among political parties.
It is always disgusting to hear and read how the innocent and ignorant girls and women from rural and deprived communities have been still trafficking in large numbers from Nepal to India and rest of the world especially in middle east and Africa in the later years. Below are the facts and figures about it [4].
"The trafficking of girls from Nepal into India for forced prostitution is perhaps one of the busiest slave trafficking routes anywhere in the world, with estimated 5,000-10,000 Nepali women and girls trafficked to India each year.[6][8] An estimated 100,000-200,000 Nepali trafficked persons are in India.[9] Nepali girls are especially desirable as prostitutes in India because they are considered more attractive due to their lighter skin color, and because Nepali virgins are believed to be able to cure AIDS.[10]" [4]
